Discovering

Our focus in this course is on the drawn observation of plants. To this end, we will take field trips to the Berggarten and nearby parks. There, we will use drawing exercises to selectively and precisely examine the vegetation found there.

At the same time, we will inform ourselves with presentation about artistic approaches relating to plants.

Through our intensive observations and the resulting collections of sketches and studies, we will invent new growth patterns and new species of plants, which we will conclude by representing in various media.

We begin with discovery and end with invention.
